An open-frame stand sized to the 4×2 footprint. A built enclosure is heavier than an empty one by a wide margin — substrate at depth, a full water bowl, hardscape and a stone hide add up fast — and a stand matched to the footprint carries that load across the frame rather than at whatever points a repurposed table happens to have legs.

• Matched to the footprint: the enclosure sits fully supported edge to edge. Overhang is where furniture that "seemed fine" starts to bow.
• Open frame: the space underneath stays usable for supplies, spare hides, or a second enclosure later.
• Puts the enclosure at viewing height: a floor-level enclosure is harder to observe, and observation is most of husbandry.
• Weigh your build before improvising: substrate is the heaviest single component and the easiest to underestimate — deep bioactive stacks in particular.
